Serija govori o znanstveniku Beriu Alenu, ki je doživel nenavadno nesrečo, ki ga je spremenila v super heroja katerega moč je neverjetna hitrost.
Med nesrečo ga udari strela in pade v komo. Mesece pozneje se zbudi s super močjo super brzino, ki mu daje sposobnost premikanja po mestu (Central City) kot nevidnemu angelu čuvaju.
Sprva je bil zelo navdušen nad svojimi pridobljenimi sposobnostmi, hkrati pa tudi precej šokiran ko izve, da ni edini s takimi močmi in da jih tudi vsi ne koristijo v dobre namene.
S partnerjem iz S.T.A.R. laboratorija posvetita svoja življenja zaščiti nedolžnih.
Sprva za njegove nadnaravne moči ve le nekaj prijateljev in najožjih sodelavcev ampak ne bo trebalo dolgo, da bo svet izvedel, da je postal - Flash (Strela).
