Med nesreèo ga udari strela in pade v komo. Mesece pozneje se zbudi s super moèjo super brzino, ki mu daje sposobnost premikanja po mestu (Central City) kot nevidnemu angelu èuvaju.
Sprva je bil zelo navdušen nad svojimi pridobljenimi sposobnostmi, hkrati pa tudi precej šokiran ko izve, da ni edini s takimi moèmi in da jih tudi vsi ne koristijo v dobre namene.
S partnerjem iz S.T.A.R. laboratorija posvetita svoja življenja zašèiti nedolžnih.
Sprva za njegove nadnaravne moèi ve le nekaj prijateljev in najožjih sodelavcev ampak ne bo trebalo dolgo, da bo svet izvedel, da je postal - Flash (Strela).

As Wells once again gets the upper hand on the S.T.A.R. Labs team, Barry 
realizes he needs to make a big move and reaches out to an old foe, Captain 
Cold, for help. Joe and Caitlin warn Barry that Cold can't be trusted. True to 
form, Cold has his own agenda that involves the meta-humans trapped in the 
containment cells. As things seem to be going from bad to worse, The Flash gets 
reinforcements - Arrow and Firestorm.
